I am writing to let you know that my father (Geoffrey H Dunn MBE), who attended Liverpool College (circa 1946 (approx) - 1956), sadly passed away on Sunday, 18th September 2022, aged 84.

He was awarded his MBE in recognition of his services during his National Service in the Cheshire Regiment during the Malayan Emergency. After his National Service, he studied at St John’s College Cambridge, from where he joined BICC (now Balfour Beatty), remaining with them until his retirement.

In 1966, along with his wife, young son and daughter, he was posted back to Malaysia to be General Manager of one of BICC’s overseas subsidiaries (Malayan Cables Berhad) before returning to the UK in the mid-1970s. Whilst living and working in Malaysia, his youngest son was born.

Once back in the UK, the family lived in Blundellsands, Liverpool, and he held various senior roles with BICC before his retirement in the late 1990s.

He enjoyed his very regular golfing, as well as being a keen gardener. He and his wife (Kay) also enjoyed regular travel at home and abroad.

In addition, I am pleased to share that he was in the first intake of David House at Liverpool College, which I believe he joined in 1945.

Geoffrey is survived by his wife (Kay) and 3 children (Simon, Alison and Matthew). His older brother Paul also survives him. Paul also attended Liverpool College and was a Head boy.
