On Friday, the 16th of December, 2022, Liverpool College says farewell to its currently longest-serving staff member, Andy Fox.
Andy arrived for the 1986/87 academic year and since then seems to have done just about everything possible that a staff member could do in the life of the college. You can see the mark he left everywhere you look.

In the classroom, Andy has taught maths and A-level Further Maths to generations of College students, but he had so many other gifts to share. His key extra-curricular involvement was as Master in Charge of Cricket, and I am sure that many Lerpoolians will have fond memories to share of trips to the Isle of Man or the Chester Festival. Andy also loved the CCF and played a central role in the RAF section alongside other College greats such as Robin Moor. Memories of CCF Camps and the Bisley Shooting Competitions are always things that Andy looks back on with great fondness.
Who will admit to being in this scrum?
Andy's initial pastoral role was as Assistant Housemaster of Brook's, and he became their Housemaster in the 1990s before working as a Head of Year for several cohorts of GCSE students. For most of this century, Andy has been Assistant Principal for pupil guidance and has supported the Head of Houses, Head of Years and Deans in seeing literally thousands of pupils successfully reach the end of their GCSE years, having benefitted from his support and wisdom.
Christine Bradley, Brian Hildick, Alun Davies, Foxy and Geoff Little
But the above is probably just the tip of the iceberg.
Does anybody recognise themselves?
This is the place for alumni who benefitted from Andy's care and skills to share your thoughts and memories in the comments below. You can upload photos as well!
We would dearly love to hear from you with the aim of collating the comments to present to Andy on his final day at the College.
Andy Fox. We salute you!
