Sixth Form 1973
"Smile, please."
"Smile, please."

It was fifty years ago this summer….

A few Lerpoolians of a certain age may hear a very distant bell ringing at the sight of this photo. I can’t remember who took it, but it shows a moment of informal celebration almost exactly 50 years ago after A-level exams when the 1973 Sixth Form (at least the part of it still bothering to turn up for school in June/July) was caught on camera shortly before being unleashed upon an unsuspecting world….

An eclectic range of hairstyles was being worn at the time - maybe it helps to remember that `Long Haired Lover from Liverpool’ had been a worldwide hit for Jimmy Osmond just a few short months earlier….!

I have tried to remember the surnames of as many people as I can in the photo (see below) – with apologies for inadvertent errors and omissions!

Greetings to all those featured where possible….sadly not quite everyone in the photo is still with us….

Front Row: Davies, Mitchell, Jordan, Braithwaite, Jones, Ireland, Barlow, *
Second Row: Ashbridge, * , Glover, Chapman, Robinson, Antonia, Nelis, *, Ashley, Pickering, Winterbottom, Pemberton.
Third Row: Jelf, Blair, Pearson, Morrison, Bradbury, Whincup, Harris, Winstanley, Watson

Back Row: Duff, McKendrick, Swallow

* Apologies, I can’t quite remember….

Can you help?

Do you recognise yourself?

Can you fill in the missing names?

Where are they now?

Tell us what you are now doing with your life.
