Given the proud association between Liverpool College and Captain Noel Chavasse VC and Bar, MC, the School has been invited to take part in a special evensong service in Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral on Thursday 25th September 2025 at 17.30 hrs. Those attending will need to be seated in the Cathedral by 16.45.
Guests of Honour will include HRH The Duke of Gloucester, Colonel in Chief of the RAMS, members of the Chavasse family and Lord and Lady Forbes. (The Forbes tartan was that adopted by the Liverpool Scottish Regiment in which Chavasse served).
Lerpoolians are also invited to attend the service (which is being) organised by the Liverpool Heroes Committee to mark the presentation of the maquette of Tom Murphy’s Liverpool Heroes Memorial to the Liverpool Cathedral. Liverpool College pupils from the CCF, along with the School Chamber Choir, singing alongside the Cathedral Choir, will also be partaking in this special service of Choral Evensong.
We hope that a good number of interested Lerpoolians will wish to attend this special occasion and if you would like to attend please confirm by email or text message to Paul Hughes, the Chairman and founder of the Liverpool Heroes Committee.

In September 2024, the last two squadrons of the RAMC left Fulwood for their new home at Dale Barracks in Chester, ending the RAMC’s involvement with Fulwood Barracks after 111 years!
The Liverpool Heroes Maquette, which is at Fulwood Barracks, remained in the Officers' Mess as it was presented to the Mess Committee.
It is this Maquette that is to be presented to the Anglican Cathedral in September 2025.
